New Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for diesel trucks and buses requires pure Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) at an exact concentration of 32.5% urea in deionized water. Any other concentration compromises the SCR system, which may be monitored by the EPA to meet the tail pipe emissions target required by its Tier 2 standards.
In seconds, the DEF-Chek tester accurately measures DEF for the right urea content to detect whether the fluid will do its job in the exhaust system. The world’s smallest scientific DEF testing device, it offers quick, automatic measurement in seconds and provides over 10,000+ measurements on two “AAA” batteries.
The DEF-Chek digital pocket refractometer is supplied with a detachable neck lanyard and non-slip rubber side grips for ease of handling. An optional accessory holster case (cell phone type) is available.
